Dana Point Harbor

This harbor houses 2,500 yachts within its two marinas. The harbor is bordered by a one-and-a-half mile jetty; complete with harbor facility guest slips, boat rentals, fishing, windsurfing jetsking, kayaking, boat charters, shopping, restaurants and picnicking. Home of the tallships the “Pilgrim” and “Pride of Dana Point”.

Doheny State Beach Aquarium, a three thousand gallon, salt-water aquarium with dozens of marine animals on public display. The only aquarium featured in the state park system. 949-496-6172

Whale Watching. Every year, from December through April, visitors delight in watching the migration of the California gray whales from Alaska to Mexico. Whale watching excursions offered out of both Dana Point and Newport Harbors.

 
 

Huntington City Beach and Pier

This stretch of beach was immortalized by the surf tunes of the 1960s and still today maintains a lively surf culture. If you’re looking for action, Huntington City Beach is where it’s at. The waves are perfect for surfers and body boarders, and are excellent for swimming. The landmark Huntington Beach Pier, one of the longest recreational piers on the West Coast, is located here in Downtown Huntington Beach. This beach is the site for surf competitions and other events throughout the year.
